Dependable and loyal -- that is how our workforce has been described. We have a labor force in our County, as well as surrounding counties, that is over 100,000 strong. We have talent that can get the job done for you and your business, as well as resources to locate, hire, and train your employees. Garrett County's population experienced a growth rate of just under 6% from 1990 to 2000. While the County is experiencing a single-digit unemployment rate, we are still averaging rates higher than that of Maryland and the United States as a whole. The Maryland Department of Planning's (MDP's) Data Center provides easy access to a variety of census and other demographic data. In addition, the Office will assist area employers in identifying qualified job candidates.
