An open house will be held by the Maryland State Police on Saturday, June 1, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Maryland State Police Barracks "Q", 18345 Col. Henry K. Douglas Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740. This will be a recruitment event for career fields in National Security, Public Safety, and Emergency Services.

Wednesday, June 12, 2019, 10 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. - Allegany County Detention Center Hiring Event

 
The Allegany County Detention Center will be conducting a one-day hiring event to interview and test applicants for the position of Correctional Officer. The event will take place at the Allegany County Fairgrounds Multipurpose Building on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
 
Applications can be found on the Allegany County Government website or picked up from the County Building on Kelly Road, Cumberland, or the Detention Center at 14300 McMullen Highway, Cresaptown. You must take the completed application with you to the event.
 

Saturday, June 15, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. - FCC Hazelton Job Fair

 
The Bureau of Prisons Federal Correctional Complex in Hazelton, WV will hold a Job Fair on Saturday, June 15, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the FCC Hazelton Training Center, 1640 Skyview Drive, Bruceton Mills, WV.

The FCC Hazelton Complex is seeking full-time Correctional Officers to protect public safety, ensure the security of federal prisons, and provide inmates with reentry programming. Starting salary is between $41,848 and $44,152; full promotion potential is $60,278. There is a 10% recruiting bonus for all officers hired before September 30, 2019.

Garrett College will hold a Resource and Success Fair for all individuals impaced by the Verso closure on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m at Garrett College in the Garrett Information Enterprise Center (GIEC), Room 111, 685 Mosser Road, McHenry, MD 21451.
 
Resources will be available for education and training opportunities, tours of the campus and specialized program centers will be provided, free workshops will be held, and employers currently hiring will be on hand for a mini job fair.
