Simon Pearce, the premier maker of handblown glass and pottery, will celebrate its 20th anniversary in Oakland.

“I started making glass because of the human quality you find in real handmade glass. One of the best ways to share that expression is to put our products directly in the hands of our customers,” founder Simon Pearce said. “We are proud to be part of the vibrant Deep Creek community.”

For 20 years, Simon Pearce has hosted guests and tourists to its Maryland workshop, where they can watch and interact with master glassblowers before shopping for the finished product in the retail store. An extensive assortment of second-quality glass is available alongside first-quality merchandise.

“As we celebrate two decades of handcrafted excellence here in the Deep Creek Lake region, we are thankful for all of our associates who live in this wonderful community. From our glassblowers to our retail associates, to our warehouse team to facilities, we couldn’t do what we do without their talent, dedication and commitment to teamwork and craftsmanship,” CEO Jay Benson said.

Simon Pearce will be celebrating during the Autumn Glory Festival, where it will be hosting Garrett County Arts Council’s Seymour, an Art Experience collaboration. This experience will highlight 30 local artists and their one-of-a-kind creations.
