Last Updated on Sep 6, 2017 at 8:59am | Garrett County Economic Development
The Garrett County Department of Economic Development and the Garrett County Chamber of Commerce are asking Garrett County businesses and residents to contact Congressional members to ask for their support of U.S. House of Representatives bill H.R. 3294 to save Garrett County's HUBZones and protect nearly 500 jobs.
Last week, the U.S. Senate Small Business Committee passed S. 690 sponsored by Senator Cardin which will also save Garrett County's HUBZones for an additional 4 years. It is a bi-partisan bill co-sponsored by U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen. Click here to read S. 690
and the press release
. Your Chamber supports both bills and is working with Senator Cardin's staff and the National HUBZone Council to ensure that one of these bills is enacted by Congress when they return from recess.
If you have not already done so, PLEASE CONTACT U.S. REPRESENTATIVE DELANEY AND THE U.S. HOUSE SMALL BUSINESS COMMITTEE (contact info below) and ask for their support of H.R. 3294, the HUBZONE Unification and Business Stability Act (HUBS).
