The Garrett County Chamber of Commerce
has launched two new task forces to tackle two of the biggest challenges facing our community - workforce development and economic growth.
Workforce development and economic growth have continually surfaced as critical issues in planning sessions and discussions with the business community. Therefore, the Chamber has created two new task forces to tackle these issues and develop solutions.
"Our community is not growing and our existing businesses are in desperate need of workers," said Jan Russell, co-owner of Savage River Lodge and chair of the Chamber's Board of Directors. "Your Chamber is dedicating resources to work on these critical issues and develop solutions that can be implemented in our community."
The next meeting of the Strategic Initiatives Task Force is scheduled for Wednesday, September 20th, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chamber's Boardroom at the Visitors Center in McHenry.
The Workforce Development Task Force will hold its inaugural meeting on Tuesday, October 3rd, at 9:00 a.m. in the Chamber's Boardroom at the Visitors Center in McHenry.
