Committee members established three key talking points for the 2017 PACE Reception. Those items have one thing in common: Economic development.
"You look at the statistics for the state of Maryland," Mountain Maryland PACE
committee co-chair Bob Smith said. "I think we're like next to last on the list when it comes to median income."
Each year, the Cumberland/Allegany County Industrial Foundation Inc. and the Garrett County Development Corp. host PACE as a way to educate state legislators and state officials on how Allegany and Garrett counties can be leveraged for development, offering a better quality of life for residents in rural areas.
The 41st annual PACE Reception is set for Jan. 26 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and the PACE Breakfast will be held Jan. 27 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Loews Annapolis Hotel. PACE is an acronym for Positive Attitudes Change Everything.
