GCED to Submit ARC Application for I-68 Regional Economic Study

The Garrett County Department of Economic Development is submitting a request for $100,000 in Appalachian Regional Commission funding to hire a site selection consultant for a regional economic study along Interstate-68.
“The I-68 corridor was originally funded with Appalachian Regional commission fundings. I believe it was Corridor E at the time and it was developed for economic development,” Cindy Sharon, project manager for the department, said during a recent Garrett County Commission meeting.
The consultant would provide mapping to showcase what assets are available to industry as well as labor analysis and will look into what target industries to attempt to bring into the county. Full article>>
