A public forum regarding scoping efforts for a future study on the economic impacts of shale gas development on tourism, second home and real estate values, and outdoor recreation in Garrett County was held on Tuesday, February 23rd. Hosted by Downstream Strategies, the purpose of the forum was to inform the public and allow them to comment about the development of a study that will examine the economic impact of shale gas activity on tourism, second home and real estate values, and outdoor recreation in Garrett County.

In addition to the forum, public feedback is also being solicited through an online survey. The survey can be accessed through March 18, 2016 on a computer or mobile device at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YP9Q3R5.

The survey will provide Downstream Strategies with useful information about the priorities and concerns of the respondents, but it is an informal survey and, as such, is not meant to gauge public perception and is not part of a scrutinized study.
