While Maryland’s unemployment rate has been low, there are still far too many highly qualified workers in the state who are unemployed and struggling to support their families. Recent layoffs, such as the one at the Volvo Powertrain/Group Truck plant in Hagerstown, have only exacerbated this problem and resulted in a large number of high-skilled workers being left without employment and eager to find a new job.
With that in mind, Congressman John K. Delaney will be hosting a Job Fair on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Kaplan University in Hagerstown. Congressman Delaney is anticipating a large number of prospective employees from across the state to be in attendance, and he would greatly appreciate if a representative from your organization could also be present. There is no cost to participate in this event, and it will be an exceptional opportunity for you to meet with talented and high-skilled Marylanders who are currently seeking employment.
