Legislation Includes $70 Million For ARC Base Program

The Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act of 201 supports lives and livelihoods in Western Maryland and includes $70 million for the Appalachian Regional Commission base program, according to Senator Barbara Mikulski, chairwoman of the Senate Appropriations Committee. The legislation was signed into law last week by President?Barack Obama.
“Families, businesses and communities in Western Maryland need a government on their side,” said Mikulski. “These funds in the federal checkbook are about the economic security of Western Maryland.” Read more>>
