Deep Creek 2014, in collaboration with the U.S. Adventure Racing Association, is hosting the 2014 Adventure Racing National Championships from Oct. 2 to 4.
The National Championships is a 30-hour-long unsupported expedition style endurance race based on strategic wilderness navigation. The race is comprised of mountain biking, long distance trekking and flat water paddling.
There isn’t a course and teams have a time limit of 30 hours to navigate to as many points as possible between the start line and the finish line. The teams will run, paddle, mountain bike and navigate using map and compass in a grueling 100-mile race that will begin at Adventure Sports Center International.
The Adventure Sports Institute at Garrett College, coached by Todd Copley, will field a team in its quest for the Collegiate National Championship. Read more>>
